In the Potter's Hands

The tea bowl was started with a lump of clay.

And shaped in the potter's hands.

Glazed.

Some trimming and shaping was needed to create the bottom of the bowl.

This is a face of DELIGHT

Just out of the kiln it glowed bright red.

Cooled in a tub of water.

Happiness!

In the potter's hands, the finished tea bowl.

Preparing the matcha tea for the first sip.

Sipping with JOY.

The finished bowl.

The potter is Richard Brandt, a pottery teacher from Portland, Oregon.
It was delightful to just watch his expressions and love as he made this very special tea bowl.
This particular art is Raku ceramics.
The tea bowl is traditional Japanese.

Happy weekend, dear friends!
