The roof top at Domus Carmelitana in Rome
The view from the roof top garden.
See the angel flying over?
Awww! Tea anyone on the garden roof top?
What a view, that is the Basilica in the background.

We were only at the Domus Carmelitana the night before we left for our cruise.
The roof top was beautiful. The hotel was an old convent with a quaint chapel and austere rooms. But the experience of the roof top was lovely.
What a beautiful memory! Love the sunset photo - so striking.

what a great place. I've been looking at genuine monasteries and convents, as I've heard many have been converted to convent hotels.
ReplyDeleteI've found only one place www.monasterystays.com which have over 320 places all over Italy. I'm know they have places near the Vatican and I'm looking for recommendations. Check it out
Now if you want to stay really close to the Vatican, after the cruise we stayed at Alimande Hotel right across the street from the entrance to the Vatican Museum. It isn't a convent, but they have a B&B with a pretty good price for the location and a great breakfast. There is the hotel and then also the B&B, which is about 30 euros cheaper than the hotel.
