Enamored with Glass - part #6

This window picture was taken from the outside looking in.
A beautiful window in Provence.

Windows are made of glass.
They bring the light into our homes.
They help us to see a bit of the outside world.
They create a barrier, keeping the cold out
on a cold snowy day.
Can you imagine what your home would feel
like without them?
I love stepping into my kitchen the first thing in the
morning when the sun is shining through the windows,
it is like stepping into the light. It is
so full of happiness in that light.
Do your windows bring you joy?
Do they open up your world and let you
see like eyes to the world?

  1. I was especially grateful for the glass French doors in my dining room this morning, as my husband called me to come quietly and see not one but two beautiful red cardinals sipping water from old cat water bowls on the deck!

  2. Such a pretty window, marilyn. The curtains are such a simple solution for a bit of delicacy but sill letting the world in.

  3. Hi Marilyn!
    No not married yet :)

Oh I love windows too...and peeking into the windows of my neighbourhood houses while I take a slow walk with my dog. Perfect! xo

  4. That window in Provence is very pretty. I like the windows at the back of my house. They look out on a wooded area and I've seen rabbits, birds (including a hawk) and squirrels at play.

  5. Love the lace...these windows give a hint of a cozy home, I'm sure! I have a fascination with windows too. I like few curtains at my windows though, so as to let in as much light as possible. And our cat loves to sit in the window-sills--very sweet. Happy Week, Marilyn :o)

  6. Marilyn,
May you have a great New Year!
The window you're showing is nice, but so is the lace. Sure like it.

I'm so glad we have windows... especially in my home.
They sure are a nice thing to have to enjoy.

    God Bless,

  7. Lovely.
Some time ago I took tons of window photos. They are good for a great many reflections.

  10. My windows are open almost as soon as daylight breaks! I love to look out and I'm working on plans for redoing some of what I see outside. Maybe this Spring will bring the dreamed of changes. Wishing I had french windows and lace curtains! ~Adrienne~

  11. Windows in Provence, and all French towns and villages, are really interesting. Some just have a lazy cat peering out, others a vase of fresh flowers from the hedgerow perhaps, and then there are these with lace curtains which lighten up the heavy shutters. I do love lace at the windows - we always had lacey sheers in England when I was growing up - in those good old dys before mini blinds, lol!!
