Enamored with Glass - part #7

Glass can be functional and beautiful all at the same time.
It is amazing that such gorgeous pieces of glass have survived
for a very long time and then sit in all their
splendor for us to enjoy in the museum.

I wonder what they held?
A vessel is for holding many different things.
I am imagining exotic oils for bathing.
What do you think?
Wouldn't it be lovely to have a beautiful glass vessel
sitting by the bathtub holding something that smells
divine? It sets my mind to dreaming.

    Oh my, these are really just exquisite, aren't they? Earlier today, I was looking at antique hyacinth vases online and marveling over the pretty glass colors. (But of course they weren't anywhere near this fancy.) Still, there's just something about the beauty of glass!

    yes, and aren't you always fascinated when they uncover some buried ship deep beneath the sea...and with it a mulitude of vessels that held things? To me, this is so exciting! I share your love of these things xoxo

    the one on the left is my favorite....the one on the right looks like what kids use to smoke pot out of...seriously, it looks like a bong. I'm sure it's not, but it made me laugh this morning.

    Those glass jars are so lovely. It must have been wonderful visiting the Louvre.

    Seeing them reminded me of being on the Carnival Legend and seeing the many displays of art glass around the ship. It's hard to resist their beauty and I spent a lot of time admiring them.
