Lavender Bleu

Click on collage to see more detail.

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to meet blogger, Adrienne, from
With a Grateful Heart for tea at Lavender Bleu in West Linn, Oregon.

Lavender Bleu and Adrienne were both delightful.

We visited for 3 hours over afternoon tea.
The tea of the day was Paris blend and Pomegranite Green.

We started with a tasty sorbet, followed by a tiny cup of Chicken Noodle Soup.

Savories:
Egg Salad Sandwich
Pastrami and Cheese Sandwich
Artichoke spread on Open face Sandwich
Ham Quiche
Cucumber Sandwich
Pea Salad

Maple Nut Scones with Cream, Jam, and Lemon curd

Sweets:
Brownie
Lemon Meringue Tart
Signature Lavender Blue Heart Cookie
Apricot Bar

The gift shop was full of wonderful things and
so much fun to browse. The buyers definitely know
what we like to see in a tearoom gift shop.
Now they just need to add some Marmalady's products
and it would be perfect.

What two better things to do on a cloudy afternoon than to have tea,
good food, and good company.

  1. Oh, Marilyn - You've such a wonderful job describing our day together. I am working on my posting about our special tea time. Can't wait to do it again - maybe next time with another blog friend or two!

  2. What a lovely afternoon you two had! Everything looks so amazing and fresh and cheerful! And the food --- delish! Even lavender cookies --- it can't get much better than that! And yes, I think it would be a good idea to add some Marmalady products to the mix! I've been checking frequently for this post --- and am happy to see it posted this morning. Thanks for sharing! (And I'm waving to Adrienne).

  3. Hi Marilyn, I just came from Adrienne's blog and had to see what another Marilyn is doing - patterns! First time I have seen people making their own and selling them! I have sewn all my life but never thought of making patterns! Great idea! Your blog is beautiful, and it looks like you and Adrienne had a fun time visiting...I am in Oregon too on the other side of the Cascades, in La Pine, near Bend. Well, have a great week and you are right; that tea shop DOES need some of your stuff!
    xoxo

  5. This reminds me that I should send you some of the Paris blend tea from Tea Upon Chatsworth. It's not quite the same as Harney's; a little creamier and not that lemon overtone. It's the kind that makes you sigh over the cup.

  8. This is a great post! I loved the photos, reading the menu, "meeting" Adrienne and hearing about your wonderful afternoon. Blogging, afternoon tea, and meeting new friends make a tea-riffic combination!

  9. Oh Marilyn! I'm so excited that you have met another blogger. I just love doing that. Duh! LIke you KNOW that. I think it is probably my most favorite thing about blogging - actually meeting face to face. So many wonderful people in the world we would have otherwise not met had it not been for our blogs. Hugs, Annie
