Haiku for Tea Lovers

Yesterday I found a small book at the book store called,
Haiku for Tea Lovers by David Ash.

From time to time I will share some of the words with you.
Haiku is a light verse shared in 17 syllables or less.

Here are two verses from the book:

encouragement in
the first sip of the morning:
you can get through this

Keemun or Kenyan,
Lapsang Souchong or Oolong,
we think it's all good.

So what is in your cup today?
In my cup this morning is Rishi Tea Emerald Lily,
a green tea from Yunnan, China.
Normally I don't drink green teas, but this one has
very nice light flavor, very crisp.

The vintage canister set was given to me a couple years ago
by my daughter. I think they fit very well into a tea
lovers yellow, vintage kitchen. There great for holding
things like cookies. Yes, Girl Scout cookies were delivered
this week. Have you gotten your cookies yet?
What can I say, those are my first daffodils from the
garden. I had to pick them and share with you.

Have a delightful weekend full of great JOY
and many cups of tea and (oh yes) cookies and flowers.
Sunshine in abundance!

  3. Marilyn, thank you for discovering my book! Which store did you find it at? All of my other humorous haiku books are on Amazon except this one (next week maybe) but they're all on BN.com too. Enjoy!

  7. Beautiful post --- I love your tiny daffodils!

My cuppa tea this morning was a special blend designed by me --- of my favorite "Calli" tea (Sunrider) blended with "Fortune Delight" and a packet of "NuNaturals Stevia". It was SO good!

    Love those canisters!

  8. Marilyn, thank you so much for your comments on my new Victoria blog. You have a beautiful blog, and I love that you are contemplating JOY this year... makes me think of Tasha Tudor's book Take Joy. Joy is there for the taking, eh? We just have to look for it.

    Blessings,

  9. Completely jealous that you even have something blooming in your garden, that is just not fair! lol

Have you tried Harney & Sons Citron Organic Green? It is my fave. Not bitter, yet not too lemony. Perfect.

xo The cannister set is so sweet. xo

  10. Haiku and Tea... I LOVE both! Poetry and tea, they just pair so beautifully, don't they? Love you tea presentation for us, Marilyn. Those canisters are so pretty--the coppery lids are a wonderful touch. Lately I have been drinking more green teas. Right now I am favoring a green tea with lime--the lime peel give such an ethereal fragrance...heavenly to drink! Wishing a weekend filled with lovely tea time moments. :o) ((HUGS))

  14. I love Haiku and have a friend who writes and prints exquisite tiny books of her poems. Lovely canisters - but I must stay away from the cookies, impossible to eat just one!!

I'm enjoying my morning coffee and crunch whole grain toast with marmalade (tea later) as I try to 'feed my cold'. Beastly headcolds - when will they come up with a quick cure????

Hope you have a healthy and lovely week Marilyn.
