Hide under the covers

Do you sometimes want to hide under the covers?
Stay in bed all day?
Not face the world for a day?

Sometimes days are just like that.
What would you do if you stayed in bed all day and hid away?

Sometimes we just need to take a day away and do something special for our selves.
What would you do?
Would you stay in bed all day, go for a walk, escape into a good book?

I think I would make a special breakfast of delicious scones and jam, a small pot of my favorite tea, a journal to write my thoughts in, and a good book; then hop back in bed with lots of pillow and just treasure the day.

  1. Your plan sounds wonderful. I just received a bunch of new books and I'd love to spend a day in bed sipping tea, eating scones and reading.

  2. How cute is that! Our little dog likes going under the covers. I have stayed in bed, mostly due to sinus issues. It is nice to do something out of the ordinary though.

  3. What a cute picture! Does the cat habitually hide under the covers?

I couldn't agree more on some days. I'll admit with my youngest in school all day now, I have had a day or two where I do just that... slip into bed, nap, or read and just indulge in quiet around me. By the time school is out I am rested and restored and ready to mother again.

  4. Cute photo! Today is a beautiful sunshine-and-blue-skies kind of day so I'm happy to be out in it, but ... on those gray, rainy days, I often think how much I'd prefer to stay in bed all day with a stack of books and a pot of tea! Reading is always going to be my favorite nesting activity, I think, because the world can be such a noisy place!

  6. Tell me your cat wrote that, because that's exactly my cats feelings about the whole thing. Why get out of bed? Even when I kick them out on the patio, they find a warm spot and go back to sleep. Or bring a live lizard inside to Mom, which is what I got today.

  7. Joey, you are so funny! You silly kitty - you think we can't see you but you're wrong. You forgot something! Your tail. My Joey, who is a puppy, loves to go under the covers but he likes to go all the way to the bottom of the bed. If I were going to hide under the covers and spend the day in bed I wouldn't let anyone know I was there - and I would do exactly what your mommy would do. Same thing - tea, journal and a good book. And a warm puppy, too!

  9. That photo is sooo adorable, Marilyn! That looks like our Charlie! ;o) A day in bed... that sounds like a great idea! Mine would be very much like yours--a slow breakfast in bed with reading & writing, then some more reading, another cup of tea...I love lounging in bed as long as possible! Happy Day ((HUGS)

  10. Darling you read my mind. I so love staying in bed, with a good book and a pot of tea. I often do just that in order to re-charge and be able to handle all life plans for me.

  11. That Joey is simply endearing! It's quite evident that he brings much joy to your household, and I'm so happy you share him with us! He has touched many hearts in the short time he has been with you!
