Warmer weather is on it's way.
I just know it is.
We are beginning to enjoy ice tea of the day.
Do you enjoy a tea of the day too?
Now if you don't know what this is, let me explain.
In the morning we make a pot of hot tea.
If there is anything left in the pot it goes into a container in the refrigerator.
After a few days there could be quite a variety of teas in the container.
This becomes our "tea of the day" for ice tea.
So far we haven't gone wrong and we continue to enjoy our tea of the day over ice.
That's a great idea. We save out left over tea to use in smoothies. Green tea is nice but I find Rooibos tea really adds a nice flavor to smoothies. I also sometimes use left over tea to use in place of water when making bread.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely and inviting is all that you share

I love your photo and your "recipe" for your iced Tea of the Day!
ReplyDeleteI like this idea - think I'll do the same and see what delightful flavors I come up with. Now I have a reason to make a whole pot of tea. And what becomes iced tea will be delightful to my sweetheart, too.
ReplyDeleteI've been missing you! I thought maybe you weren't posting and then today as I began to make some changes on my blog I realized that you 'fell out' of my blog reader. I'm taking care of that right now. I don't want to lose you again!

I never learned to love ice tea despite having been in this country for over forty years. I love having a cup of hot tea in the afternoon, especially if you can have it with a piece of leftover tiramisu from book club the night before...
ReplyDeleteThat does look refreshing. I never seem to have much left in the pot, but I'll have to try this when I do. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHello Dear Marilyn,
ReplyDeleteTea of the day! Now that is a wonderful idea and your glass of tea looks refreshing for sure. There are few things as wonderful as a tall glass of tea on a warm day, or any day.:o)
You and your family enjoy a most lovely weekend.
Smiles...
Beverly
I could use some ice tea this afternoon !
ReplyDeleteHow lovely is this! And what a nice way to save leftover tea. I hope our ice tea weather starts soon.
ReplyDeleteI have just switched from coffee to tea. It makes me feel better....no caffeine. I drink herbal and it is so good. Coming from Seattle...I am bucking the tide!
ReplyDeleteGood idea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a simple, yet great idea.
ReplyDeleteIs that a Waterford glass your having your tea in?
Great idea! We do something similar with leftover wine. We pour the little bits from day to day in a barrel and make vinegar!
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea for tea of the day, the "leftover" as ice tea! This cold tea look very refreshing. I've not made any ice tea yet... It's still chilly here, so hot tea reigns still...LOL! Happy Weekend, Marilyn ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHello Marilyn, what a lovely idea. I too enjoy a real pot of tea. Just going to make one now. Happy days.

Popping over via Linens and Royals to say 'hi'! I've never had iced tea like this before. But I love tea so I am going to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a wonderful day!
SOUNDSLIKE A GREAT PLAN TO ME!
ReplyDeletewhat a great day for ice tea. 92 degrees here.
ReplyDeleteWell dear Marilyn, now I'm beginning to think of you as a Southern Belle sipping on aaaassed tea, I do declare!!!! No not for me - dyed in the wool Englishwoman that I still am, AND living here in the South, cannot get the hang of aaaassed tea - only a hot cuppa with a dash of proper milk for me!!
ReplyDeleteLeftover tea in bread dough - from your commenter Marisa, now that sounds interesting!
Marilyn thanks for stopping by so diligently dear - I'm up to my eyebrows in safari stuff so have been bad about visiting and leaving comments lately!
Hugs - Mary
What a great idea...I adore the stuff....I think I will try your tip because I am a hot tea drinker and always have some left over in my teapot...thanks for the tip and have a great new week.
ReplyDeleteI, too, have started drinking iced teas for this year. And I've not tried the "tea of the day" technique but I think I shall!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you make your grandma proud - "WASTE NOT!" (smile). The picture of your tea is just lovely...and your blog site is so refreshing...love the whiteness! Donna
