Blue

Next to yellow, I love blue.
I especially love blue in nature.
I sometimes dream of having only blue flowers in my garden.
Do you ever notice the blue of the sky at different times of the day
and at different times of the year?
Even blue frosting on lavender cupcakes sing to my heart.
When you think of blue, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
Is it sing the blues?
Or feeling blue?
Or the blue of the ocean?
May your heart sing today with the color of blue.

  1. Blue is my favorite color, and seeing all these blues together is such joy to me!

The ocean is, as always, my favorite, but all together these blues are so stunning!

    Love this!

  2. We are so much alike Marilyn, yellow and blue. If you look in my wardrobe, these are the most common colors. In my house, rooms are painted in yellows and blues. I went shopping last night for tops, yellows and blues! I look at your pictures of the different shades of blue, and it just makes me smile, it's such a happy, soothing, color.

Probably the first thing I think of is the sky, because that is the biggest blue thing I see every day.

  9. Beautiful photographs here. :)

Whenever I paint with encaustics (beeswax, oil paints and damar resin), I tend to gravitate towards blue. The flowing nature of the wax, especially when it's buffed up to a glossy surface reminds me of water. I'm hoping to do more of that this August, when the weather cools down.

  10. The blue of the sky grounds me, ironically; I am always home, wherever I am, under a sky blue sparkle.

The sea can be that exquisite turquoise blue, and that is something that cannot be described.

But I'm a great fan of pinks, and greens, and purples.

Aw, dont make me choose :) I'm grateful for them all!!!

  13. What a gorgeous collage! I think of blue as a "comfort color," and I especially like the blues of the sky and ocean. Any blend of those is great by me, whether it's in jewelry, teawares, quilts, artwork ... or nature!
