My Word for 2011

Believe is my word for 2011.
Believe is a word that has tickled in the back of my mind
for several years.
It may be a difficult word, but I am ready for the challenge.
Focusing on a word I find that beside seeing the positive side,
I also see the negative side.
I feel up to the challenge for 2011.
My journal is ready.
To start the year out there will be a new
Monday series called, Spirit Whispers.
This series has also been percolating since I started to blog
and 2011 will be the year to listen and pay attention to what I Believe.

I do BELIEVE in magic, as shown in the picture.
I hope you will join me on the journey,
pull up a chair or a blanket, have a cup of tea, and share along with me.

Have you chosen a word for 2011?

  1. A wonderful new word for the year! I'm excited to read your adventures with BELIEVE.

I have thought of choosing a word --- but I'm not sure if I will follow through with it on my blog. My word would be "renewal" or something along that line --- maybe "rediscovery".

    Happy New Year!

  2. You have me contemplating a word for 2011 but have not come up with one yet. I was at a friend's house yesterday to see their Christmas decorations and she had the word "joy" in many places across the house. I told her about you and your word for the year. She may be thinking about choosing a word too!!

  5. Rejoice and believe are my two words that my friends recognize as "mine", but for the coming year I am thinking about "SIMPLIFY".

  8. My word is Enthusiasm. I think if I can stay enthusiastic about even the small things in life good things will follow.
I would like to have Marilyn's word, simplify, but I'm too much of a collector fror that. Maybe next year. Happy 2011

  12. I love the new picture at the top of your blog - it's so beautiful! And, I do love the picture with Believe on the bottom. Who is the artist? It looks familiar to me, but don't recall where I have seen it.

I like your word choice "BELIEVE" - will look forward to future posts...I don't know...I think "Joy" will be my focus here this year...What a neat thought to have a word to focus on throughout the year.

Thanks for the inspiration! Have a very merry new year!

  15. I hadn't really thought about a word to concentrate on, Marilyn, but the one that comes to mind is "Finish". I have a list of things to accomplish this year and they are all things I have started but not finished. I'm going to finish the kitchen, finish going through mom's stuff, finish creating my books, finished my Tunisian crochet blanket, finish my quilts, etc. That isn't nearly all of it but almost anything of any importance in my life right now involves the word "Finish".

  16. Oh, I do believe in magic! And "Believe" is a wonderful word!

It is January 2. I am still trying to come up with the right word. Some feel too obligatory -- Well, Jeanie, you should be doing that anyway. Some too soft. This word thing is new, but so many seem to do it -- I must try too!

  17. I believe you've chosen well ;)

At the close of my yoga practice this morning my word came to me: intention. Intention seems like not much in itself, but it is a foundation for much, which, as you know, is where I am.
