Does your mind sometimes just jump from one thing to the other,
full of scattered thoughts?
My mind is doing that very thing this week.
There are so many different thoughts just jumping around there.
Saturday I visited my 91 year old aunt, who is getting ready to move
closer to her grand-daughter. Our conversation was sort of the way
my mind has been, but the one thing we talked about was how the only
certainty in life is that we are born and we die.
This week I have thought a lot about what is in between being born
and dieing? It is called LIVING.
Do we just sail away or do we dig into the dirt?
Are we fully living or are we just letting be what will be?
Are we just living out what has already been predestined for us,
or are we making choices for the way we want to live?
Then I came across this quote in two different places
and it just made me smile, as it fit so well with the way my mind was thinking.
Much to think about --- and a interesting comment from Adamik!

Love the photo and the quote. Today I'm doing a little catching up on things I've neglected lately - some of it is fun stuff.
ReplyDeleteMuch for one to contemplate. Since I just finished my book, I am taking time to organize the guest bedroom.
ReplyDeletebeautiful quite, and you must be reading my mind i feel the same way, so i decided that i will also choose love peae, laughter and joy
ReplyDeletethank you for sharing blessings.
GREAT post, Marilyn! I am choosing to have some distance between "Me" and my job. They are not the same.
ReplyDeletei've always kind of felt that we are on the path that was chosen for us the day we were born....
ReplyDeletebut as soon as i do something really spontaneous, then i think not.....
I'm choosing to join in life's parade instead of let it pass me by while I watch from the sidelines.
ReplyDeleteSo true, and well worth remembering. Interesting timeliness for me to see this message -- just the other day Dr. Anne was talking about Gypsy and saying how cats lived every day in the moment -- they didn't worry about the future and the past -- well, it teaches. I'm not so loose as Gypsy -- have to at least keep future and such in mind. But that said, how I do it is a choice and that choice makes the dif between "living" and "existing."
ReplyDeleteSo, today I'm getting my hair cut, going to a wine tasting and looking forward to tomorrow with lunching with friends and a birthday open house! Sounds like a good weekend to me!
Some VERY great thoughts today, Marilyn... much food for thought! That quote is wonderful, very apt... Today I am choosing to be spontaneous and not such a slave to schedule... it feels good! ;o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteSo funny that you posted this as well, it is a great quote. Love your post here, I have been thinking about much the same lately. I also believe we have choices, even if it is only in our approach, our attitude. We can't always control what happens in life but we can control how we choose to handle it.
ReplyDeleteToday I am choosing to face what needs to be done with a smile and a good heart because I know that attitude is everything.
ReplyDeleteThis image is stunning. Just wonderful! And that Adamik quote? STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteSounds so very lovely all your fabulous choices
ReplyDeleteLove you
