Portland, Oregon is divided east and west by the Willamette River;
so you will see many bridges here.
Walking along the river on Sunday I took time to
notice spring's arrival with pink cherry blossoms
and high waters.
In this picture I can see three bridges over the river.
When I first moved to Portland I had the most difficult time
figuring out how to get across the river, so mostly
I stayed on my eastside. Since that time I have
learned how to get around, after all it has been 35 years.
I love my city and love showing visitors around;
so if you come to town, just let me know.
I can cross the river now.
If I ever get to the Portland area I will take you up on that! What a wonderful spring view!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you can cross the river, as I always have such problems! Even if I stay on the freeway from my house, and go across the bridge without turning off, I end up in some part of town I didn't mean to go to! I need to come and let you do the driving! Someday. . .
ReplyDeleteThe Willamette River is beautiful --- we've done the jet boat ride --- and it's amazing how one can go from "city" to the wildness, complete with rookeries for herons and more.
I am soooo in love with all the cherry blossoms now, and it was a delight to see them with you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful photo! You captured our part of the state beautifully. There is no place like Portland! Shall I come take a tour with you?

That fringe of pink along the water--that must be breathtaking to see for real in springtime! I love bridges, always have--always exciting to see what's on the other side. :o) I would love to see Portland one day... the whole northwest there really! ;o) Happy Days, Marilyn ((HUGS))
