A River Runs through It

Portland, Oregon is divided east and west by the Willamette River;
so you will see many bridges here.
Walking along the river on Sunday I took time to
notice spring's arrival with pink cherry blossoms
and high waters.
In this picture I can see three bridges over the river.
When I first moved to Portland I had the most difficult time
figuring out how to get across the river, so mostly
I stayed on my eastside.  Since that time I have
learned how to get around, after all it has been 35 years.
I love my city and love showing visitors around;
so if you come to town, just let me know.
I can cross the river now.

  2. I'm so glad you can cross the river, as I always have such problems! Even if I stay on the freeway from my house, and go across the bridge without turning off, I end up in some part of town I didn't mean to go to! I need to come and let you do the driving! Someday. . .

    The Willamette River is beautiful --- we've done the jet boat ride --- and it's amazing how one can go from "city" to the wildness, complete with rookeries for herons and more.

  11. Interesting, isn't it, how we often get into our own spots, don't venture out! Well, I hope to one day get to Portland, so I'm glad you can cross the river!
