Farewell Autumn Leaves

— Elizabeth Coatsworth
(thanks Elizabeth Knight for giving me this poem)

The leaves are almost all on the ground now.
They were spectacular here in Oregon this year.
Some years just shine and this Autumn definitely did that.
There are a few dried leaves sitting on my mantel for the pure pleasure
and still enjoying them.
May each of you have time to wish the leaves farewell for another season
with a walk or a picture singing their glory.
For they will return on another day and in a different form,
but be assured, they will return to dazzle us again.
Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!

  1. Brian so enjoyed the two beautiful trees outside our window this year. Such glorious color! They
are now bare. (Till next year)

Thank you, Marilyn for prompting me to reflect this last year! Happy Thanksgiving.

  5. Oh, I can relate! We had a lovely fall, too and now it's more or less fallen.

Sending grateful Thanksgiving wishes to you. While we only "met" about a year ago, I feel as though we've been friends a very long time, for which I'm most grateful.

A lovely browse as always. Some gorgeous photos you've shared. A real gift and treat. Loved the one with the girl statue holding the autumn leaf.

  9. The meal has been eaten.
    The kitchen is clean.
    The leftovers are stashed.
    The walk has been taken.
Everyone is happy and fed and blessed.
Now I have the time to stop by.
On this Thanksgiving Day, I wanted to tell you that I am thankful for you; for this blog; for our friendship. Sending you much love, Relyn
