If you have been reading Delights of the Heart for awhile you will know I delight (LOVE) in the ocean.
Yesterday was 100 degrees in Portland, so it was decided that a day at the beach would be a good thing.
My favorite beach is Oswald West in Oregon.
It is about a 15 minute hike through the most beautiful old growth forest I have ever seen and then
the beach is there in all it's beauty. What could be better?
Normally we visit the beach on off season when it is rather quiet,
but found that on a hot day in Portland there were a lot of others that had the same idea.
The clouds sat just off shore, but on the beach the weather was perfect, even for a little tea drinking.
Take time this weekend to find the perfect place to celebrate summer and all the you love.

I'll be going to Orange Beach (Ala.) in a few more weeks, so this is really making me eager to get there and sink my toes in the sand! Ahhh ...
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish I could run away to the beach today! Too much going on here - but soon. . .real soon!

Such a beautiful beach and the old-growth forest there is very special. You are fortunate to live so close by. I love your bench-tea. So serene and tranquil.
ReplyDeleteSal and I visited a new tea room today. We had our own (short version) visit to serenity and tranquility. I wish it had been at the beach, though.
Those West Coast beaches are stunning, with the ocean against the hills. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteDid you actually bring that tea pot and tea to the beach?
You are a tea girl, aren't you? Love it.
Today was like a beautiful fall day. Being outside was so pleasant, as the break from the hot summer we've had here is so welcome Marilyn. I still hope one day to see the ocean. Your photo's are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to be spending time at the beach! The description of the journey there also sounds wonderful. Lovely photos (with your teapot and tea) and the
ReplyDeletebeach scenes.
Oswald West is a beautiful beach and your photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely tea time - by the sea is really special.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of that beach through the wild flowers - glad you were able to find a spot and escape the heat of the city.
Enjoy your weekend too - perhaps the heatwave has ended - we're a bit cooler now but very wet weather coming in again.
Love, Mary
Beautiful vistas... and how lucky to be so close to the beach!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photographs. I love all you share my sweet friend.

GORGEOUS, gorgeous images, Marilyn! They all have an almost contemplative quality about them. Glad you were able to get away to the beach to beat the heat. It was actually hot here this past weekend--82 degrees, can you believe?! There was a lot of iced tea flowing... ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHI, oh my, such beautiful pictures. Takes my breath away. Years back, in another life it seems, I was on the Oregon coastline - it was SO beautiful. Drove from Washington to San Francisco all along the coast. I love the Oregon coast the best.
ReplyDeleteLove Gail
peace......
Will you take us there when we come :-)
ReplyDeleteoh marilyn....this is my kind of beach. wow, it's just beautiful !!!
