Photo taken in my yard this weekend. Do you know what kind of caterpillar it is?

Ah. but to be a butterfly upon a tea leaf,
to decipher the hieroglyphics upon a wing,
or trust the darkness of transformation.
I bow to the god before me,
and drink the essence of
beauty's sweet nectar.

It is big! I have no idea what type...some type of moth larva would be my guess.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what kind it is...very pretty though! Wonderful quote too!
ReplyDeleteNo idea! But she (?) has pretty coloring!
ReplyDeleteA perfect poem!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely it is! I have no idea, but I hope you get to see it emerge into a butterfly!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea. If you know [and you probably do], please tell us.
ReplyDeleteShelley's poem is beautiful.
I searched the internet and couldn't find it. I'm sure it's a moth though. Nice post Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteAccording to all the pics I've seen, it's a Luna Moth. But then it's said their habitat is in the north eastern states. We have luna's here in the mid west, so I'm stumped!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! What kind is it? I love the poem too.
ReplyDeleteOnly caterpillar I recognize on sight is from the Monarch butterfly, and this is certainly not one of those. It is quite pretty though.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I sure do love it. I picture it as a butterfly all orange and chartreuse. Just beautiful.
