Kill for Tea

Oh the images here, created in my mind.

Quotes from A Week in Winter by Marcia Willett

Is it appallingly old-fashioned to say that I would kill for a cup of tea?
Tea first, A bath would be wonderful but tea must come first.
Well I will leave you to get yourself sorted out while I get the kettle on.

Do you feel that way sometimes?
What images do these words fill your mind with?

  1. HI MARILYN - I am reminded of my precious Mom and all the wonderful cups of tea we shared. I would get out my china tea cups and brew the tea leaves in my tea pot. We would finish the whole pot. We talked about everything, sometimes these 'tea-times' were light and filled with laughter, other times we were comforting one another during difficult times. I would give anything to share one more pot of tea with my Mom.

  2. A beautiful, beautiful photo.

What images filled me mind? First, the title did not seem to belong on Delights of the Heart --- but I knew it would be something interesting. Yes, it is! The tea must come first. Then everything else falls into place.

  3. Coming in cold and wet on an early winter evening after work and putting the kettle on, running a bath and enjoying tea before slipping into the tub... Ahhh... :-)

That's what your quote reminds me off!

  6. haha... at first, when I saw the post title, I thought, oh, no, Marilyn's gone extreme! ;o) But there are definitely times when a cup of tea must come first above all else... Then everything else can flow as it will. A cup of tea can ease so much. Fun, this! Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

  7. Hah. No. Not at all. I feel the same way about coffee. I yearned for it so much tonight that I gave in and made a 4C pot. I may be up late tonight but then I usually always am so it won't make much difference.

  8. Beautiful teacup! I do enjoy a cup of tea -- especially in the late afternoon...it's always more fun when shared with a family member...and at that time of day, there usually is someone to share a cup with. ~Donna

  9. The cup that refreshes! I think that's a commercial, but don't know whose. And I'm with Donna, I LOVE that teacup! Is it an Alfred Meakin?
