Kindly Tea Plant
"What part of confidante has that poor teapot played ever since the kindly plant was introduced among us. Why myriads of women have cried over it, to be sure!...Nature meant very kindly...when she made the tea plant; and with a little thought, what series of pictures and groups the fancy may conjure up and assemble round the teapot and cup."

I've never heard that quote - thanks for sharing. Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote you shared with us, Marilyn. I can't begin to imagine how many worldwide inhabitants have assembled around the teapot to drink its soothing liquid over the centuries! Nature meant very kindly, indeed!
ReplyDeleteTea does seem to be the most convivial of drinks.
ReplyDeleteHow true, Marilyn. A cup of tea sounds really good right now, so I think a will partake!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying lots of hot tea this weekend as I have a beastly head cold and laryngitis- yes, I'm quiet for a change!
ReplyDeleteSome Empress Grey (that latest English favorite) and some warming herbal blends, and fortunately my taste buds have not been compromised....so far! Of course this also means some biscuits (cookies) for nibbling too - my poor waistline will suffer!
The rain is falling steadily, it's cold and pouring with a chilling rain............so off to boil the water for another cuppa.
Hope your weekend is fun dear friend.
Hugs - Mary

ReplyDeletePosey little teacup. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think there is no one that enjoys a good cup of tea more than you...I am always taking time for a cup of special tea. Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you too, my friend.
ReplyDeleteCharming photo and lovely quote to match!
ReplyDeleteWonderful image, Marilyn! I'm under the weather with a nasty crossover cold-flu thing, so tea has been a nice companion since the weekend. Happy Days ((HUGS)) P.S. You hinted at some travel plans this summer, and I was sorry that you might not go abroad this year. Hope we can meet up another time. :o)
ReplyDeleteOh, I do agree! It is a kindly plant indeed, and our lives wouldn't be nearly as rich without it!
