My sister and I share the same birthday month.
Each year we either have lunch together or tea.
Last Saturday we celebrated at Cheryl's Cup of Tea
in Oregon City, Oregon.

Normally we need to be a group of at least 4 people
to have reservations, but because there was another
group Cheryl said we could come and have tea too.
How special to have tea in this sweet little shop,
tucked in a neighborhood of historic homes.
Our tea was an English black tea, Typhoo,
made just right (just like Goldilocks would say).
Then we had a lovely salad and almond brie tart.
Followed by the three tiers of fresh fruit,
apricot scones with cream, and sandwiches
of turkey on a croissant, cucumber, and avocado wrap.
Sweets finished off the celebration with a Happy Birthday cookie,
chocolate vanilla cupcake, and lemon sorbet with blueberries.
Not in the picture was a bear that danced for us a Happy Birthday wish.
It was delightful day of tea and celebration.
Do you have special traditions for celebrating your special day?
What do you do?
What a fun celebration! Happy birthday season to you and to your sister, too! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday Marilyn, what a special way to treat yourselves. I wish there were a tea room here, went to one in Wisconsin some years ago, in an old farm house and run by monks. It was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to celebrate your special day. It all looks so appealing.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday month to you and your sister! Cheryl's tea shop looks so sweet - as if you are visiting her private house. The dancing bear sounds like a delightful surprise ending to your delicious tea and celebration. My birthday treat would be to go to the theatre or preferably the ballet and that is on my wishlist for later in the year.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT's Tea! Almond brie tart? Be still my heart. Looks to die for and just as beautifully served as it sounds delicious!
ReplyDeleteShe is serving from a Hall Crocus teapot. So I love Cheryl!
Happy Birthday to you,

What a lovely birthday celebration! Thank you so much for sharing this special moment! I love to celebrate my birthday at a 'new-to-me' tea room.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Marilyn - and what a great celebration! It is the end of the day and looking at that afternoon tea tray is pure torture! Delicious! I am so pleased to shared this lovely time with us at Friends Sharing Tea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous way to celebrate sisterly birthdays! And I must say, I may have to go back for some of those curvy little, crescent-shaped plates like the one you show. Saw some great ones over the weekend, but I couldn't imagine how I'd use them since they were missing teacups. Now I see: plop a round treat in the indentation. Brilliant!
ReplyDelete:-) Wonderful! I'm with Angela - I love that gold plate that's crescent-shaped.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a delightful and delicious birthday tea with your sister! I wish that my sisters lived close by so we could do this. And Happy Birthday to you!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to BOTH of you.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely celebration, Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your visit.

What a wonderful tea experience to share with your sister. I usually go to Greentree Tearoom with friends for my birthday in nearby Lexington, KY, but we are difficulty planning a date that works this year.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Cheryl's Cup of Tea looks like a wonderful place to celebrate. Happy Tea Day!
ReplyDeleteCheryl's Cup of Tea looks like a fabulous tea room, with yummy food and lovely presentation. How special to have a tradition of celebrating birthdays with your sister.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy Birthday on the 15th and how fun to enjoy the days leading up to it.
Such a beautiful "tea" and "birthday" celebration. Being able to share it with your sister is the "frosting on the cake"!!!!
