An Ordinary Day

An ordinary day for me must always have flowers.
It must always have a cup of tea.
Thinking on these things.
Sometimes I don't like ordinary days until I stop and look with delight at what is there.
An ordinary day may include aches and pains, plus cleaning the house.
An ordinary day may be just sitting quietly with the rain falling outside the window.
An ordinary day may be a trip to the market or the dentist.
I often have a difficult time accepting ordinary days.
Do you?
I dream of running and flying to exotic places.
I dream of meeting fairies on a walk in the woods.
I dream of dancing through fields of flowers in my tutu.
I dream so many dreams, but yet.
I am thankful for the flowers, my family, friends such as you, and a good cup of tea
just surrounding me with JOY and love on an ordinary day.
I am learning each day to SHINE in an ordinary day.

  1. Although I enjoy dreaming of adventures and I love to travel --- I think I enjoy the ordinary days at home the most.

  2. Your ordinary day's flowers are lovely in that sunlit room! I find myself so filled with gratitude every day -- even the very hard ones that I don't understand. And on a day when the sun is out and I'm sitting at my desk with a sleeping cat beside the keyboard, that gratitude abounds.

  3. Ordinary days help me appreciate the spectacular days! And I'll take an ordinary day over a "bad day" anytime. I guess if we look for lovely things in ordinary days [such as your beautiful flowers, or a cup of soothing tea] we'd be amazed at all the things that embellish an ordinary day.

  7. The older I get, the more I'm learning to accept the ordinary days.
Like you I try and make a 'special' moment to take away the ordinary.
I buy these special cartons of 'fluffy coffees' - Nestle Vanilla Lattes. So I try to sit outside and enjoy my moment in the sun sipping my coffee.
I look at the lavender bush and dream I'm in France - if I close my eyes and feel the sun beating on my face, I could easily be in the South of France!!! (in my dreams).
But do you know what - like you I would love to dance through the fields of flowers in my tutu - we can do it together Marilyn!!!
    Hugs

  8. Today will be ordinary but busy - meeting a friend for lunch and plant gazing (I'm not buying!!!!) at a garden center - then off to get hair done this afternoon.

Dancing through fields in a tutu with you sounds great fun.........shall we dare?

Lovely tulips - when they grow longer and stretch out of the vase I love them even more. Pretty cut glass vase.

See you later - and will answer your e-mail.
    Hugs - Mary
