Have you Noticed?

Just a few days ago I hopped in my little red buggy and took a short road trip.
The view from the bridge of downtown Portland as I traveled along.

It was time to find flowers for the garden.
Have you noticed the flowers this week?
Each day this week I have loved the flowers of Spring.

It was the annual Master Gardener sale at the fairgrounds.
A perfectly gorgeous, sunny day!

Little red wagons were carrying plants everywhere you looked.

Columbine's just shined in the sun.

Geraniums too!
Hanging baskets galore!

Petunias by the dozens.

Glorious peonies, oh how I would have loved bringing them all home.

What I did bring home was the sunshine I saw on this sweet face.
A smile just for me and you.
Get out and smell the flowers this weekend.
You might find a smile just for you and that smile might come from you.

  2. You were in my neighborhood, my friend. Not far away - but I was out of town. What a little sweetie peeking through the flowers. Next year I really must go to the sale. I've never been to it and it's just blocks away!

  3. Pretty photos Marilyn, and the last one is precious! I spent the last two days planting flowers, and inhaling the awesome scent from the petunias that Mom picked out. The gardens are taking shape, hope your day is a great one!

  6. How pretty. Was the sale one day or through the weekend? Nice little smile you caught at the end there; a little fairy in and amongst the foliage.

  7. She was perhaps the prettiest flower of all! Great shot Marilyn.

I'm loving the garden right now - best time for blooms before the humidity hits our area. Today I washed off the deck, cleaned the windows and front porch. Roses are everywhere, jasmine just opening - perfume fills the air, and a few mosquitoes, drat!

I hate to leave it all - I may miss the hydrangeas opening - they are covered in buds so there should be a great show this year.

    Happy weekend dear friend.

  9. How lovely to have a whole fairground full of flowering plants available for purchase! I think we are FINALLY past our last snow scare, and can safely plant annuals. So I need to go plant shopping.

  12. Hey, you're in Portland! Very close to me--Eugene. I'm up there quite often but still miss a lot of fun stuff. Going on to read more posts.
    Happy week to you,
