I was so excited recently to receive Susan Branch's book,
A Fine Romance.
Now I would be remiss if I didn't tell you about it.
I immediately sat down (curled up in bed) and read it.
I loved it.
So yesterday I ventured to the countryside for a little teaparty
and Susan's book came along.
It was a fun get-away with tea and a good book.
Do you travel with a good book and tea?
Note: Please do not pin my photo's without asking permission. Thanks!
I got my copy yesterday too. I started reading it and thought that this sweet book needs to have a proper setting...like your tea party, or under the down covers in the winter. Since I can't wait to read it...I'll start reading it on the porch with a tall glass of iced tea.

I never HAVE traveled with a good book and tea, but I have an idea I might have the chance to do it soon! Your table is lovely and the nest is a sweet touch!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a good book. I love S.B.'s illustrations. It looks like you picked the perfect spot for your countryside tea. Everything looks delicious, too.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought about adding a watermark to your photos? That way, if someone out there pins them, your name is still on the photo. Pinterest does link photos back to their original blog. But from what I have seen of Tumblr, there is no way to identify where the picture came from. Ugh. I don't like that, and won't use Tumblr because of it.
I know Google also has code that you can add to your blog that makes it impossible for anyone to pin your photos.
I'm always on the lookout for a good book, and this one sounds delightful. Tea in the countryside looks wonderful too. Finding countryside around here involves a bit of a drive, but perhaps tea in my garden would do just as well. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside setting for a Tea.
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the book Marilyn, it looks like it would be good, just by looking at the cover and the title. Would love to sit there with you and have tea.
ReplyDeleteOh Susan B. will love seeing this post of yours, I'm sure! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful post it is.

(Who must have-herself some real tea... :-))
What a joy...love susan branch!!! Enjoy
ReplyDeleteI hope my tea in England (anywhere!) turns out as pretty as this.

Hi, fellow FOSB 'girlfriend!' Looks like a delightful outing with AFR; I'm still reading my copy bit by little bit, loving every inch of it! Had the good fortune in 2000 to meet Susan at a book signing in Pennsylvania, and would be thrilled to see her visit lower Alabama! Thanks for sharing.

Your tea table looks lovely, and I'm sure the book is lovely, too. I'm looking forward to reading it.
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteAre you having a problem with the photo thieves Marilyn? I know several bloggers/Instagrammers are lately. I've read that watermarking does not prevent them taking them, cleaning off the mark, and still using them. Personally I think watermarks spoil pics posted on blogs, and if they are easily removed what's the point?
ReplyDeleteLOVELY teatime picnic - I recognize the tablecloth! The food looks fabulous - is that raisin bread for the sandwiches? And what's the filling?
I don't have any of Susan's books but will be looking at this one - the sub-title alone grabbed me - homesick time!
Love, Mary
Great looking book, will have to check into it further..
ReplyDeleteI always travel with tea and books - kindles are great for bringing an entire library without adding to your carryon weight ;)
as to pinning, it 's a great way for more people to discover you and your blog. not sure why that isn't seen as a good thing?
Happy reading...
I have just ordered that very book myself and cannot wait until it arrives!
ReplyDeleteI just finished reading A Fine Romance. So lovely. Makes me want to buy a ticket on the Queen Mary and head to England NOW.
ReplyDeleteLOVELY photos, Marilyn! And I now have the book on my reading list--I like Susan Branch's books. When I read I always have tea... so in a way I'm always off to another place with my cuppa. :o) Happy Week ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting for my copy of the book. I know I'll enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYour photo is exquisite and oh, so very lovely! Every detail. It speaks of such a pleasurable experience without words. Nicely done.
