Magic

There is a magic in the moment when being visited by nature.
A magic that delights and sings to our heart.
Hummingbirds, lightning bugs, and the song of
the quiet nights sounds.
I watch for this magic in anticipation.
Rejoice in the small things for they are sent by God.

What are you noticing today in the small things of magic sent by God?

Photo taken just outside my breakfast window.
Each morning Joey and I sit in anticipation, watching!

  1. At first I missed it - then looked again and saw that tiny miracle bird enjoying breakfast! They are amazing.

I'm watching my pair of Carolina wrens through the dining room window. They never seem to leave the front porch area for long - and are already sleeping in the hanging baskets at night, arriving now around 7:45 pm. Seems they don't usually do this until Autumn but have come earlier this year.

Thinking of you and Jim as I work on the Lan Su post for later. Reading over the details I've learnt more - it truly was a beautiful place and when I'm in Portland again I will definitely want to go back and spend more time there. Hope you'll be alongside me dear.

Packing for our weekend in Charlotte today!

    Hugs - Mary

  2. A truly magical photo Marilyn!
Like Mary I saw the lovely blue salvia first and then caught the wee bird - is it a humming bird? We don't have them in NZ.

I'm just back from France and slowly making my way around the traps again!

  4. What a delightful 'capture' of this wee little 'hummer.'

Ahhhh yes, Fireflies! How I wait for them... How I enjoy watching them... But, I have never wanted to catch one in a jar.

This may be a usual part of childhood summers but... -sigh- Never did it, and never encourage children/'grands' to do so.

Watch them! Revel in the dainty light show! And in the magic! How they make one think of faeries! But let them live, freely...

  6. Morning, Marilyn. I'm noticing the new roses in the garden. The cuttings taken from bouquets given to me as gifts are now small bushes and the roses are beginning to bud. The humming bird is an exotic sight for me so you're blessed to have them in your garden.

  7. What a great picture! Amazing!

We've been having a sweet little hummer come to our back porch --- where it is attracted by flowers and the colorful bird houses hanging there. I really should put a humming bird feeder out.

  8. LOVELY, Marilyn! Today's magic here has been the sweet sight of 3 cats snoozing on our deck--one ours, two belonging to the neighbor... makes me happy to see them, and that they all get along. ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

  12. Oh, how I love this photo. During our weeks in California last summer Marta and I both tried the best we could to get a hummingbird photo. We got several, but none as good as this one.

  13. Oh, it is such a gift to have a hummingbird visit! What a great shot, Marilyn. I've seen two so far this summer, and only captured a very quick flash of one with my cell phone--not a god picture, but a wonderful treasure of a moment! Hope you're having a happy summer. xo
