It's beginning to look like Christmas
everywhere I go.
And so the shopping has begun,
cookie are being baked,
carols are beginning to be heard.
Do you delight in this time of year or is something you avoid?
What is your favorite part of the holidays?
No shopping for me this weekend, but a few cookies will be baked.
I think I will start the celebrating with a massage,
then out come the bins of twinkling stars and shiny balls.
Oh I love seeing them again and remembering past Christmases.
Happy weekend, dear friends!
May the festivities begin!
everywhere I go.

It IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas around town! I'm not shopping this weekend, either. I'm at home - enjoying some quiet before the bustle of the holidays ahead. Some gifts have been wrapped and delivered to out-of-town family who gathered with us for Thanksgiving. Baking cookies sounds like a great idea on a chilly almost-December day!

I love it! Even though sometimes I overdo! I got most of the trees out (some with ornaments, some just in place!) -- all except the big one, which I'll set up today but not decorate till we return from Nashville. Cookies and such will have to wait till I'm back. Oh, I DO love it!
ReplyDeleteIt has become a time for creative projects and connecting with friends
ReplyDeleteI do delight in it, I love getting my favorite decorations out, although I'm trying to pare down a bit this year. Wishing you Advent and Christmastime blessings!
ReplyDeleteSuch sweet pre-Christmas cheer is that image! We did get to decorating during the weekend. Though we don’t do a tree anymore, it is still nice to have twinkle lights, candles and other decorations. We like simple. I don't actually enjoy all the rushing around shopping. I love gift-giving, but the "Christmas Crunch" is not my cup of tea... gotta have plenty of tea to get through the Christmas shopping. ;o) What I love most is this season of Advent, time to reflect, light candles, spiritual reading, good food... December is full of magic moments! :o) Happy Days, Marilyn ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of Christmas is actually those quiet, reflective moments from about Christmas Eve to New Year's Eve when things start to actually *slow down* and we can enjoy the quiet and peace of the season!
ReplyDeleteVery festive! The older I become, the more simple Christmas becomes. Maybe it is because the children are grown. But I am appreciating it without the glitz. Cups of hot tea, a pretty wreath, and a stack of books that are each filled with Christmas stories makes the season a delight.
