The fragrance of a flower is the sweetest thing of all.
Several of you mentioned lily of the valley and sweet memories.
These lily's just brighten the whole house with beautiful fragrance.
Old roses are a favorite of mine.
And who can resist walking through a field of lavender?
I am reading Anne of Green Gables right now.
"Anne gathered some sprays of pale honeysuckle and put them in her hair.
She liked the delicious hint of fragrance, as of some aerial benediction,
above every time she moved."
Doesn't Gods creative spirit shine through the fragrance of a flower?
"The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind.
But the goodness of a person spreads in all direction."

I have thoroughly enjoyed thinking of fragrance this week and hope you enjoyed also.
Loved your stories!

Again I say, we need scratch-and-sniff technology for the Internet!
ReplyDeleteI read Anne for the first time last year. Isn't it marvelous?
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos you've shared. I can almost smell the flowers and lavender!
ReplyDeleteFragrance is such an important part of the garden. I can't bear to purchase a rose plant without fragrance. I'll put up with fussiness and a bit of black spot if only it's scented. Beautiful photos. Lavender fields are things of beauty.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angela, above. :-) I love all of those.. lavender, honeysuckle, lily of the valley and have grown each one at various homes we have lived in. Maybe some day I'll get all of them together in one garden.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteI love all your postings
Flowers are food for our souls.

I've always loved the stories by L.M Montgomery--the Anne books being my favorites! Funnily enough, I got the Anne series to read via my Kindle app just lately wanting to revisit those sweet stories. BEAUTIFUL rows of lavender...*sigh*... A sweet sight for these winter-sore eyes. ;o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteI love your bouquet and is that my favorite, a calla lily peeking out at the back?
