As the snow started to fall last Thursday I ran to the market for provisions.
Remembering that I had mentioned here recently that sometime it is
good to just "stand and smile", I did a bit of that and took my camera along.
Visiting two markets that day, I took time to "stand and smile"
in the flower department. Oh how it warms the heart!
If you need a bit of cheer and a happy heart don't forget
this doesn't cost a penny but your time.
I often do this just for pure JOY.
And for today, I hope the pause to just "stand (or sit) and smile" brought you JOY.
A lovely reminder of what is important! I envy you your visit to this gorgeous flower market. However, I will take a page from your book and go outside and enjoy the warmth of the sun and the blue skies and the fluffy clouds today, not to mention the bird song and the quiet. Thank you for the wise word.
ReplyDeleteOh Marilyn, your pics here brighten the day! Snow coming down so fast and heavy since noon - everything covered. The forecast for tomorrow - schools closed everything canceled.
ReplyDeleteWe did the grocery run yesterday (and I should have bought flowers, darn it) so have all we need for soup and such. Firewood getting low as it's been such a cold winter, but have stacked it on the front porch this morning under cover and more easily accessible.
Tucked in here and as long as we have power I'll be a happy camper!
Hugs - Mary
So lovely! One day when I was shopping, the young lady at the floral counter announced, 'I have the best job'. She certainly finds the joy and the beauty of her job surrounded by those colorful blossoms!
ReplyDeleteI admired the bouquets of flowers today in the grocery store. Beautiful orchid plants, too. How good it is to drink in beauty wherever we find it.
ReplyDeletestanding and smiling…i like that. unless it's in the snow, then no :)

Oh, what cheer you bring us! This is making me smile all over! I think tomorrow I may need to buy some flowers!
ReplyDeleteI just did that today at my local Kroger. I just looked at all the beautiful flowers for valentines day, and I just smiled, and even giggled a bit. A lady looked at me like I was weird or something. So I too, Stood there and smiled.
ReplyDeleteIn all this snow and bad weather, there are shorts and swimsuits in the stores! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteWonderful advice! And your photos of the market flowers are lovely. We didn't get nearly as much snow as you did but it was very pretty.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and beautiful flowers
ReplyDeleteHow I need this colour therapy
in our long long cold winter.
Love Jeanne
Beautiful Flowers, thanks for the eye candy at this time of all the ice and snow.
ReplyDeleteFlowers have been making me 'stand and smile' over these past days. I had a very hard day with my dear mother's situation and I bought daffodils to grace my kitchen window. What a treat! Yesterday was her ninety-first birthday. She is struggling hard with the changes that need to be made. I took her a big bouquet of flowers. She loves to arrange flowers so I chose a bundle for her to put in a favorite vase of hers. As I watched her arrange them, she was smiling - and so was I. Thank you for the reminder to stop and take time to just stand and smile!
