A Little Girl's Heart

Does your heart have a bit of the "little" girl or "little" boy in it?
When you were young, did you dream of such a place?
Or maybe finding a cabin tucked and hidden in the woods?
Did you dream dreams of adventures and discovery?
Step inside, dream a little dream with me.
For I still have a "little" girls heart,
a heart that dreams of secret hide-aways.
What treasures would we find?
Would we carry a book and some tea into these secret places?
Would we share or keep the secret?
Let your "little" child's heart come and play with me,
for dreams I have just stepping here.

  1. Dear Marilyn
Yes I've never lost my little girl's heart either!
As 71 and 72 year olds we could have a wonderful tea party in our secret garden place - spreading out a rug to hold our favourite books and tea time goodies!!!
    Meet you there!
    love

  3. What a sweet post. Sometimes I go to sleep dreaming of lovely places to visit, and they're usually such as you describe. A book and tea, and a beautiful setting. sounds wonderful!

  4. Great looking tree house! My grandson would love it! No, I would be afraid to go into those secret places, too worried about a snake being there! Guess I've lived in Florida too long! LOL! I love to read about those secret places tho!

  6. My little girl's heart never grew up! I'd love to have tea in a secret place or a sweet playhouse. And share secrets and giggles and all things girlish.

  7. I still dream of such a place... LOL! A castle-style tree house would be a great addition to our garden! ha... There would be a table & chairs for tea and tinkering with crafty projects. Soft white curtains at the windows. Maybe space to "camp out" overnight with the stars... Well, I could dream all day on this one! VERY fun, Marilyn!! Happy Days ((HUGS))

  8. Yes I am very childlike in many ways having a heart of my youth.
They were enchanting days and enriched with love and happiness.
We all need spaces and time for dreaming especially in the spring.

    Blessings
    Love Jeanne

  9. I have been wanting a "writer's cottage" for a while now, but you know, a treehouse would work just fine! ;)

  10. I've learned through my recent stay in Missouri that a wicked beauty lives in these broken places. I've found a few that break my heart so much that I can't photograph them. It would be disrespectful to those who still live within. Being here has been a real lesson to me on what I can shoot and what should only be gazed upon. An unexpected lesson but one I was glad to learn.

  12. Great photos of tree houses, being tucked away in a quiet hidey hole would be a delightful treat in our often too busy world.
