Tea with a Friend

Tea time is always extra special when sitting with a friend.
Being served these special, delicious sandwiches, I felt like a queen.
Sipping tea and conversation are always a favorite afternoon treat.
Then we played in the kitchen making mochi.
Mochi is a sweetened glutinous rice mixture wrapped
around a small piece of bean paste.
A special Japanese sweet often served with tea.
Have you made mochi?
Have you even nibbled on mochi?
Having been served these little treats at several teas,
I was curious to know how to make them.
Thanks, Stephanie, for letting me play in your kitchen.
The mochi and tea were yummy!

  5. Love Steph's creativity with the china "tiered server" and her sandwiches look wonderful. Afternoon Tea shared with special friends [and family] are wonderful times, indeed!

  8. Ooh Marilyn!
No I've not even heard of mochi let alone tasted it.
I will ask Yoshia who is Japanese and married to our nephew!
Meantime I'll visit Stephanie's blog and learn some more!
I love your sweet cake stand!

  9. LOVE the teacup-stand--sweet idea! I've had mochi once. It was an acquired taste, as I'm not very fond of glutinous rice, but do like the bean paste center... So no, I've made them. But I'd try eating them again. LOL! ;o) Happy Days, Marilyn ((HUGS))
