Just Joey

Just Joey is one of my most favorite roses ever.
Doesn't it just shine in the garden?
After the rains came, the roses just were glorious!
And you thought I was just going to show you my Joey.
He is rather camera shy, but I caught him hiding under the quilt.
If you have a rose garden or only want one plant,
I highly recommend Just Joey.

Do you have a favorite rose?
What is it?

  1. Well, I think I do now. "Hi little Joey" I'd take you over a rose anyday.

  2. I was hoping the post would be ALL Joey-the-Cat -- but this rose is pretty darned gorgeous, too. (But we would have had words if sweet orange Joey wasn't in the post! I love that photo!)

  6. Ahh Joey is so sweet! We have inherited two pretty climbing roses in the house e have recently moved tow - both pink - one light the other bright! David Austin Roses are always pretty in the UK. It's also Chelsea Flower Show over here at the moment - a big flower exhibition in central London which the Royal family attend. I've seen some beautiful flowers and roses on tv this week! x

  7. Well. I would love to plant roses. They are so beautiful. But last year I planted one poor rose bush. Don't remember the name
The darn rabbits ate it till they could eat no more. It didn't come back this year. So upsetting. Should I try again?

  11. This is a favorite of mine - but I don't have one in my garden. My father had one that was always gorgeous. I loved seeing Joey peeking out at us.

  12. Oh, so sweet... Joey... come out, come out! ;o) Kitties love quilts, so he might be under there a while... LOL! LOVE the roses too, Marilyn. We've not had a lot of success with roses in our garden, I've all but given up on them. I love all the David Austin English-style roses... Like Queen of Sweden, Heritage, A Shropshire Lad... all the pink ones mostly... LOL! Happy Day ((HUGS))

  13. A pretty colour and I wonder if your little cat is named after your love of this rose?

  14. Joey is adorable! Peeking out from under the quilt to make sure you are behaving!

My favorite rose is Diana, Princess of Wales. The blossoms have been especially beautiful this year.

  15. Your rose is gorgeous -- may need to add that one to my wish list! I think my favorite is 'Tea Clipper,' but I got a lovely yellow one from a friend for my b'day this year, David Austin's 'Graham Thomas,' and I went outside and something (deer, I suspect) had eaten all the pretty blossoms overnight. There are only stalks where the buds and blossoms were last night!
