Kauai - Somewhere Over the Rainbow

One of my girlhood dreams was to fly in a helicopter one day.
Kauai offered the opportunity and the beauty of the green, amazingly lush surroundings,
plus water, water everywhere.
From our condo window after a sudden rain we could count numerous water falls,
but flying up close was a thrill.
One of the first falls was filmed in Jurassic Park.
We flew through canyons, into the island crater, over beaches not accessible by road,
and just beautiful sights everywhere.
Click on any picture for a closer look and enjoy,
we certainly enjoyed tremendously.
The music playing in the earphones on the ride was Somewhere Over the Rainbow
and this was every bit that.

  3. COuld it possibly be more beautiful? I think the answer to that is no. And I love knowing that you fulfilled a childhood dream!

  4. How beautiful, and how lucky you had a clear day. We went on a similar helicopter tour and it was cloudy and drizzling the whole time. Still beautiful but we lost views of so many places.
But it does feel like it cleanses your soul, doesn't it?

  7. So happy you were ale to fulfill that special dream dear Marilyn - the ride was awesome I know and certainly the best way to view Kauai's beautiful scenery - yippee!!!!

Remember my helicopter ride in Botswana? I was scared to death at first, but then loved every minute and was thrilled to do the return ride when the Okavango Delta water rose even higher!

Sometimes we get to experience things we thought would never happen……and then embrace the wonder.

    Hugs - Mary

  8. I'm assuming it was that hip Hawaiian version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and not the Judy Garland version? At any rate, this sounds (and looks) divine!
