I could have Danced all Night!

Most think of me as the tea and flower girl,
but I have always loved fashion too.
When the Italian Fashion show came to our art museum,
I knew I had to go.  Over all it wasn't the most thrilling show,
but that top photo (my favorite dresses) just made me want to dance.
Dance is also in my soul and a pretty dress just says "twirl".
In my heart I was imagining and dancing the Viennese walze in
Vienna, strolling the avenue in Paris, and tiptoeing along the canal
in Venice.
Does your heart just dance with JOY at seeing something pretty?
Do you love admiring a pretty dress?
I want to get close to it, examine it, touch it, see how it was made.
How I wanted to touch!
When you walk through the aisle at the store looking at clothing,
what strikes you first?
Is it the color, the style, or the feel?
Fashion in it's beauty definitely delights my soul.

  1. I would rather look at pretty dresses than wear them -- I remember having those feelings of wanting to touch at the Diana gown exhibit several years ago. Did you see any of the Night at the Museum gala earlier this week -- now THOSE are gowns!

  2. I love pretty clothes and I wish there was more opportunity in our ultra-casual culture to wear them. Dresses that swish and sway make me want to do the same. I'm attracted to the tactile first, if it doesn't feel good in my hand it won't feel good on my body.

    Those are gorgeous gowns.

  3. I love really beautifully made clothing. It's such a joy to see, and, as you mention, to touch. I love getting to dress up, and wish there were more opportunities to do so. My husband is probably more of a clotheshorse than I am! He's a very dapper dresser, and I love going shopping at vintage clothing stores with him, because he has an incredible eye. :) Maybe I need to do a blog post about one of our vintage clothing sprees!!!

  4. Yes, I love beautiful fashion! When I walk through the store I can't keep my hands off the clothing - or fabric in a fabric store. A dear friend of mine once told me I'm a 'touchy-feely' kind of person. And I am! The texture calls me, the color begs for attention and the 'hand' of the fabric always seems to pull me in. I can 'see' you dancing in Vienna in that beautiful dress. And I would be nearby in mine!

  5. Oh, the color always grabs me first! Love that bright hot pink and green gown … I can just imagine some vivacious woman dancing the night away in that!
