Summertime

What says summertime to you?

Shaved ice is the ultimate summertime for me;
so recently I found a restaurant that serves them year round.
Does that mean I will have shaved ice in winter?
Possibly!!!
I adore shaved ice.
My favorite flavors are cherry, root beer, and banana.
Sometimes I have them combine the three.

Do you like/love shaved ice in the summertime?
Do you search them out and just smile when you find a source?
Now you know!
Shaved ice for me is my summertime DELIGHT.

  1. You look very happy with your shaved ice delight! I don't know that I've ever had shaved ice, or it's been a very long time. It does sound cool and refreshing.

  2. Ooo... shaved ice! I've not had that in a while! I love it! Can't get it here much, though, sadly.., mostly ice cream, soft ice cream and such. Like you, I love cherry, but with lime together. Root beer--good too! VERY much enjoying catching up with you here, Marilyn... LOVED the vintage cars post--be still my heart!! :o) Well, you'll never guess--I started a photo blog. Yup, blogging again... LOL! this officially makes me crazy... but we all knew that already, right?! ;o) Kind friends asked me to come back, so here I am: http://simplegiftspictured.blogspot.com ((HUGS))

  3. I do loved shaved ice and haven't had it in ages! My favorite summer treat is lemon sorbet -- or just about any kind of ice cream. But why limit it to summer?!

  4. I'm with the other gals, haven't had it in years - but just asked Bob about it and he said we had it when we lived in NH. He also used to get it often when on business trips to Hawaii where apparently it's popular. My latest sweet treat is Breyer's Gelato - the Tiramisu flavor! I know I shouldn't, but I keep a carton in the freezer and try to have just a small portion now and then!
Hey, it's 90+ every day here and we are fading in the heat - a gal has to try everything (even dessert) to stay cooooool!!!!

    Love ya - Mary

P.S. Yes, you must come to NC - but not in high Summer!!!!

  5. Snow cones... that what we had when we were growing up. I enjoyed them as a young girl, but find it too sweet and too cold now. Much prefer ice cream, and lots of it!
