Just to cheer your day!
Lilacs from another year.
Delights my soul.
Since the first photo is showing up on Pinterest,
I thought I would share again.
The bicycle belonged to my father-in-law once upon a time.
The main lilac tree has now died, but it has left some
baby lilacs to take it's place.
Aren't they a gorgeous color?
I love nuzzling my nose right down in the blooms
and to breathe in the scent.
Happy Thursday, dear friends!
Don't forget to leave a comment on Tuesday's post for the give-away.
Hi Marilyn and Happy almost Spring -
ReplyDeleteOh how I love, love lilacs. Your pictures are so beautiful I could smell their lovely scent - mmmmmmm........ My Mom and I so often enjoyed sitting ot near my garden near the lilac bush and enjoying the aroma and beauty - oh such memories - A lilac bush is one of my fist purchases this Spring for our new home - :-)
Great post
Love Gail
peace.......
I love the color of your lilacs. A few years back I realized the light ones in my back yard weren't my favorite color. I also noticed a bush at the end of our street which had dark purple ones and they bloomed like 6 weeks later than mine which meant they survived the late snows. Yours are lovely!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty lilacs and photo. Happy Thursday, to you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was just out in the garden this afternoon and noticed how the lilac bush is getting ready to burst into leaf. Blooms will be awhile yet, but we can enjoy your beautiful photo while we wait.
ReplyDeleteLilacs are one of my favorites and in a basket on a vintage bike, even more. Loved seeing your father-in-law's bike and the beauty of Spring.

Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWOW... this was a sight for my winter-sore eyes, Marilyn! LOVE these images... they say HAPPY! :) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lilacs! Love how they look in the bike basket, too.
ReplyDeleteJust perfect - lilacs are favorites for their amazing fragrance and beauty, sadly they don't grow well here in our southeast climate. Used to love them New England. . . . . .and of course old England in my childhood garden too!
ReplyDeleteMary x
Inhaling their sweet fragrance, I always think of my grandmother.
ReplyDeleteOh Marilyn I love you lilacs and the bicycle is a beauty too!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't get cold enough in Auckland for lilacs but if I'm in France at the right time of year I enjoy them in my daughters garden.
I love the deep colour of yours and it's not hard for me to imagine the heady fragrance!
