A gift of a poem for you at Easter time.
No April Words
There are no words for saying
How wistful is the push
Of April through the budding
Of a lilac bush.
There are no notes for making
A little elfin air
Of new leaves on a willow;
No phrases to compare
With tapering blue hyacinths;
The first white butterfly;
With plum trees misted sudden
Silver on the sky....
One may only listen-
Hand at throat-to rapture
More lyrically lovely
Than any song may capture.
~Kitchen Sonnets by Ethel Romig Fuller
Happy Easter
Happy Springtime
Happy April
What a beautiful poem for the month of April.
ReplyDeleteThose photos are lovely Marilyn - pansies are such a favorite always - mine are doing really well this Spring despite the up and down weather patterns we've being having. Very warm here now - 80's expected this weekend - poor pansies may be struggling. . . . . . .along with melting chocolate eggs at the local Easter egg hunts!
Enjoy the Easter holiday and know I'm thinking of you.
Hugs - Mary
This is lovely, Marilyn. Wishing you a joyous Easter! (And I love the pansies -- a favorite!)
