This past weekend a night was spent on the McKenzie River.
This is the view from the cabins window.
We were surrounded by beautiful trees and then there was the river.
With so much rain this year, the river was fuller than I had ever seen.
It rushed by.
If wasn't the meandering river where you wanted to wile away
the day sitting in these chairs.
But it was a time to explore and savor the moments among the trees.
Enjoy with me!
Nearby sat the Goodpasture Bridge.
“Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The
river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the
basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the
rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs.
I am haunted by waters.”

I am haunted by waters.”

This quote was found on Goodreads.
There were raindrops settling on the trees
The rocks glistened in the light of the day
The spring flowers bravely stepped into the light
And yes, the waters haunted me with their rushing by
I rejoiced in the beauty of my world

Your beautiful poem is clearly inspired and with such gorgeous scenery, I can see where that inspiration came from. What a beautiful spot. I know you must have had a divinely relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bridge with a lovely name!
ReplyDeleteI hope the sound of the river's rushing water near your cabin in the woods helped send you to sleep. It seems you had a delightful overnight's stay and a relaxing weekend.
I love all the lush greens of spring, and it sure seems they have saturated the landscape there beautifully! Also enjoyed seeing the ferns begin to unfurl ... must make time to go check on mine!
ReplyDeleteWow, what beauty spots! And that is some fast-moving water! LOVE the covered bridge! We have lots of those where I'm from back in Pennsylvania.
ReplyDeleteLOVE these beautiful lines... "I am haunted by waters.” ...and your very own... "I rejoiced in the beauty of my world"... I could chew on both of those for a looong while... :) ((HUGS))
What a beautiful way to celebrate Mother Nature, Earth Day, and all that is good.
ReplyDeleteWere you at Belknap Hot Springs? That's where my vintage trailer group spends a few days every fall before we all say goodbye for the winter. These scenes look familiar.
