Three courses of ice cream were served.
Made and designed by Morgan Street Theater.
Each creation told a story from the garden.
It was a fund raiser for Growing Gardens,
a program to educate and assist schools,
prisons, and individuals to eat healthy,
growing their own gardens.
What a unique way of celebrating this program with ice cream.
The first course above was brown butter sage ice cream
with squash cake, salted kabocha caramel and hazelnut dust.
The second course was fresh ginger ice cream
with spiced coconut soup and peanut tuille.
The third course was chocolate rosemary ice cream bon bon
with crushed salt and pepper potato chips and a
raspberry vinaigrette.
They were all amazingly delicious,
but my favorite was the last one.
This evening was a delight as I was invited
by Jordana, the young woman I met over tea just a few weeks ago.
Learning about Growing Gardens @growinggardenspdx
was both educational and a delight, just sweetened by ice cream.
Ice cream is Yummy, but all the goodies you added to it makes it even better. The chocolate rosemary sounds really good. You know, my favorite ice cream would have to be rocky road. : )
