Just the other day as I stepped out of my car
this message was sketched into the sidewalk.
We all can use a thanks much from time to time;
so I took it as a sign to be thankful.
Then as I walked on the beach last month
I found several special messages.
I took them each one to heart and held them there.
Can you see this message, it is a bit hard to read.
It said Happy Birthday and it was the day after mine,
so I took that too.
It was meant for me and someone else.
The perfect butterfly was found nearby.
As you will see with the last picture,
butterflies have a special place in my heart.
I took this sweet message to fly too.
Then in my own gardenhouse I found
my live-in gardener had left a message there.
My pies have always had a butterfly placed in the center
and this Easter apple pie was no different.
My daughter had to take this picture because it was an
extra special pie.
Last summer I drove alone to California to get one more box
of gravenstein apples from my sister's small orchard.
Now they aren't just any apples,
they are the remaining trees from our grandfather's
orchard many years ago.
This was my last pie in the freezer served to special guests.
These little things are worth celebrating
and noticing for sure.
Each day we must notice what you notice
and celebrate the little things.
Such a sweet message! I love your point about the apples.

Delightful photo of you and the pie!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely habit... make a butterfly on your pie crust!
And what special apples.
All your found 'thankful' items are sweet. But especially so, the one from the live-in gardner. :-))))))))))
That pie looks so delicious. What a nice idea to put a butterfly in the middle. I must try it. It's great to appreciate the little things in life.
ReplyDeleteYou’re absolutely right .. we must stop to notice the beauty and secret messages that are all around..Didn’t you find some lovely symbolism too and good for you for applying the love and self reflecting... That butterfly in the pie is just too SPECIAL... Thanks for sharing the JOY...xoxox
ReplyDeleteI would say you are communicating with a much higher power -- or vice versa. Pay heed. And you are.
ReplyDeleteAnd wow -- what a pie! I am TOTALLY impressed!
I love the messages you found. Your pie is even more special because of your grandfather's orchard. What a treat! I never thought to make a 'signature' for my pie crusts. Perhaps I shall start a tradition. If I ever make pies again!

Oh, I love when "signs" appear in our every day lives, Marilyn. I think these were all meant for you. I didn't know that you loved butterflies. This pie sure does look Yummy. And a cute picture of you, Marilyn.

Great pic of you dear Marilyn, and wow! what a beautiful pie. I recall Gravenstein apples from when we lived in New England - I never, sadly, see them down south.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a lot to beat a really delicious apple pie!
