The pot in which I brew my tea
Is dented and more than a bit tarnished,
But I still enjoy the tea.
The house I live in
Needs a coat of paint and several shingles,
But I sleep well at night.
The body I use to live my life
Is wrinkled and slowing down,
But I am alive and I rejoice.
I am not the body in which I live,
I am the life itself.

excellent quote. And rather puts one in one's place, doesn't it. :)
ReplyDeleteClosing my eyes and breathing. A good reminder.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, my favorite quote so far! Love this one, Marilyn, and I smiled when it said "the pot in which I brew my tea is dented and more than a bit tarnished," cause so is mine, and I've been wanting to get a new one! If you know of any places that sell copper tea pots, let me know. Those are so charming.
ReplyDeleteThank you for filling my life with joy when you post your tea quotes, Marilyn.

Excellent!
ReplyDeleteAnd interesting you should picture a fire. We turned on our gas fireplace last evening. Because it was sooooo cooool, and rainy.
It was a delightful evening... With the fireplace on. And both of us, reading our own things. :-)
A splendid quote/poem, Marilyn!
ReplyDeleteBut I am alive and I rejoice... What beautiful words to contemplate! I've been mildly grumbling about my aging body lately, so this puts me in a better frame of mind. ;) Happy Week, my friend ((HUGS))
