Hand
From Wikipedia: A hand is the part of the body at the end of an arm. Most humans have two hands. Each hand usually has four fingers and a thumb. On the inside of the hand is the palm. The five bones inside this part of the hand are called metacarpals. The wrist connects the hand to the arm. The hand has 27 bones including the wrist bones. An adult hand weighs about 1 pound.
Such technical information when a hand is so much more than the technical.
In the picture I noticed the hands touching, the hands loving, the hand working at holding something, and the hands gesturing.
A hand serves so many different functions.
The picture is my daughter and grandson, plus their dog at the beach this past week.
My hands were part of the hugs, the preparing of food, the picking up rocks on the beach,
and the hands in prayer.
You always seem to choose a special word for each week, Marilyn. The hands are precious, and do so many wonderful things throughout the day. What a sweet photo of your daughter and grandson at the beach and their cure little dog. Yes, hands in prayer are the best gesture of all. : )

ps.....It was nice to hear that you're familiar with the painting of the woman smelling the roses. It's a favorite of mine too, and reminds me of my Mom. She had reddish hair and had a calm nature about her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo, and lovely thoughts to accompany it. Hands are so important for many things.
ReplyDeleteA lovely family photo. Family times are the best! Glad you had a good vacation.
ReplyDeleteHands can say soooo MUCH! LOVE this photo... and just such a sweet post, Marilyn! :) ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteYou're so right. Hands are so much more than the bones and tendons within. They touch, they love, they high five and fist bump, they hold onto small treasures and help push heavy things. I love this. And your subjects!
ReplyDeleteGotta hand it to you, these hands are pretty handy as evidenced by the multipurpose uses demonstrated in this clever grouping!
