"The lost leaves measure our years; they are gone as the day are gone."
~Richard Jefferies
Thus, I ran with my camera just to share with you today the beauty of Autumn in my garden.
The garden house sits in the back corner of the garden still welcoming with a small heater inside.
"No two gardens are the same. No two days are the same in one garden."
~Hugh Johnson
"Autumn arrives in the early morning, but spring at the close of a winter day."
~Elizabeth Bowen
The leave are sharing their last fling for the season and beginning to fall to the ground.
What a show they are putting on right now.
I hope where you live you are savoring this time of year with JOY
and making plans to tuck in for the winter with a snuggly quilt, a fire in the fireplace, a good book, and a warm cup of tea. Stay well and calm, dear friends.
Happy weekend!
It has been a most beautiful autumn. Winds ripped many leaves from our trees last night, and the trees will soon be bare. Your garden glimpses are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely colors of Autumn in your garden, Marilyn. I really liked all your photos and quotes. I've never seen that dark purple color of hydrangeas before. They look like Autumn. And the bonsai tree is even turning orange, how wonderful. That tree in your yard looks very old. Oh, the stories it could tell. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a peaceful weekend, Marilyn. It's raining here today!

Beautiful words, colors and photos of your stunning garden Marilyn.
ReplyDeleteYes, like you I'm starting to prepare for winter months here at home.
We have just canceled Thanksgiving trip to AZ with family - just can't take the risk!
A crackling fire, snuggly throw, mug of something warming. . . . .and plenty of free time to enjoy it all, sounds close to perfect at this odd time in life.
Hugs-Mary
So glad you grabbed the color while the grabbing was good. So very beautiful. Ours will probably drop by the end of the week with weather changes but oh, we have to savor this while we can!
