Heronswood Garden, Kingston, Washington

Oops! I was going to post this last week and time flew by.

On a recent venture to the northern part of Washington State my "live-in gardener" and I stopped for a visit with his sister. The view from her home is just so peaceful and beautiful. Boats and birds float by and sometimes eagles soar right past her windows.

Those two trees in the left side of this picture often finds eagles resting there.

While we were visiting her, she told us about Heronswood Garden in Kingston, Washington. So off we went to walk in the garden. It is owned by The Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe and beautifully maintained. On their brochure it says "Heronswood celebrates the diversity of cultures in the Pacific Northwest while showcasing the magic and majesty of botanical treasures from around the world." Come along and enjoy some of the sights.

It was a lovely, blue sky day. A perfect day to walk in the garden.

We had been to visit in this part of Washington many times, but this was new to us. It seems like no matter how often you visit a place or even in your own back yard there can be more to discover and enjoy.

Hoping you are discovering new things in your part of the world often and still enjoying an occasional blue sky day in a garden.

  1. I have never been to the Pacific Northwest but every time you post photos of your excursions I am enchanted. The water is stunning and this garden was a wonderful treat!

  2. What pretty gardens, Marilyn. And so well taken care of. I love those bright Pink flowers. The wooden awnings are nice, and add to the charm of the gardens. That area where your sister lives where the Eagles rest is especially beautiful.

Have a peaceful October weekend, Marilyn.
