A friend always closes her emails with a quote. This is the quote recently on her email:
Speak kind words and you will hear kind echoes
I did a little research to see who originally said this. What I found came from Mother Teresa, "Kind words can be short and easy to speak but their echoes are truly endless.”
So my mind wanders down the avenue of "echoes". Memories of kindnesses shared and the reverberation. How did it feel when someone had a kind word for me? I felt happy and wanted to pass it along. It is like sound waves that repeat and repeat.
The reflection on the water is like an "echo". It sends out a beautiful image again and again.
How do you feel when receiving a kind word?
Do you want to pass it along?
Sending love,
Marilyn
I have about 30 or so Saints that are dear to me, and Mother Teresa is one of them. Her kindness quote is quite special, isn't it? A pretty photo of the lily pads, and thanks for the gentle reminder that kindness goes a long way. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a good week, Marilyn.

Kind words are so affirming. They can soothe anger and calm chaos. Oh, if only we would all practice being kind in our speech. What a world it would be
ReplyDeleteHi, Marilyn. Honestly this has been on my mind...it sort of goes with the ripples in the pond...idea...that you never know what you do or say may flow in a ripple far away and even bounce back to you. In these times of disparaging, gripes and downright meanness, a little smidge of kindness, a nod, or a smile...will go SO far...thanks for posting this. Sandi
ReplyDeleteA lovely post. Kindness is so important. Just being nice, sometimes, s the kindest thing. And you never know how much that might mean to a person. We can't always tell who is having a bad day!
