Friends are the best at knowing what I like. A special friend tucked the above three quilt squares into my birthday gift this year. They are vintage quilt squares. Now my mind is running with possibilities to do with the three squares. Eventhough each square is a different color the center is the same, much like each of us. We may look different on the outside, but inside we each have a heart that loves, cries, and rejoices in the daily small things of life. I think I will frame these three beautiful squares and hang them in my office to enjoy each day.
Another friend gave me a tea cozy made from an old family quilt. It is one of my favorites. It is used almost daily over my morning teapot. Friends are indeed "the best".

Today is the last regular Monday for sharing quilts. Tomorrow is my 200th blog. In celebration of both events I am giving away a copy of the book mentioned several weeks ago, Hidden in Plain View, A Secret Story of Quilts and the Underground Railroad. Just leave a comment here throughout this week and on Friday, April 3rd, I will announce the winner.

What delightful surprises. The quilt squares will look beautiful framed. The book reminded me that I had not seen Don's order for that book come in yet. I just called him and it never arrived. Grrrr. He's sending a follow-up inquery to Alibris.
Framing the three quilt squares to hang in your office is a great idea and I love the tea cozy made from part of an old quilt. Maybe I could use the one I found at a yard sale to make my own. It has some wear and stains, but there are usable parts for a cozy. Congratulations on reaching 200 posts.
Congratulations on your 200th post. I so enjoy reading them! Faye Mc
Delightful quilt blocks --- they will be perfect framed! And I love the tea cozy --- a great idea. It's ice that you use it daily. Besides the treat of reading your interesting post, you are offering a wonderful give-away! Thank you! Congratulations on your 200th post! I enjoy your blog very much!

What a beautiful thought!
I *love* that quilted tea cozy!!! Congratulations on your 200th post!
I am feeling very "crafty" this week, so these great quilted pieces are definitely making me think it'll be a "quilty" week as well! I love that your friend knew you well enough to know you'd like those vintage quilt squares. And I have never before seen a tea cozy made from an old quilt. Lovely!
I'm back. Alibris is issuing a credit. The book was shipped but evidently went lost in the mail.
I love your comment on the quilt squares, how true and a beautiful thought!
This book would be awesome, my sister has a copy but would love one myself!

Love your cozy - I use one my mother made years ago - it always makes a cup of tea so special and memorable!
The book sounds so interesting, I love historical stories and anything to do with needle and thread - please add my name - it would be fun to win.
