A tulip from my yard this spring. This tulip was suppose to be blue. Does it look blue to you? We brought home tulip bulbs from Amsterdam last fall. All winter I was so excited to see a blue tulip. I am not sure what happened, but I learned to love the tulips anyway.

Quote from Rumer Godden
How to be happy when you are miserable.
Plant Japanese poppies with cornflowers and mignonette,
and bed out the petunias among the sweet-peas
so that they shall scent each other.
See the sweet-peas coming up.
Drink very good tea out of a thin Worcester cup
of a colour between apricot and pink.......

Have a delightful weekend.
Enjoy the sunshine.
Plant flowers and drink tea out of a special cup.
It's pretty even tho it's not blue!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful verse --- I read it over and over again, enjoying it's sweet essence! Flowers and teacups --- it doesn't get much better than that. * I love your red tulip --- but I can sense your disappointment that it was not blue. I hope you can find a blue one somewhere and sometime in the future. * Today I am unpacking Rubbermaid bins of tea sets and china, washing them carefully by hand, and wondering where I am going to put them. :D
ReplyDeleteI think that tulip is a marvelous color. Here's a quote about happiness by Elizabeth Gilbert that I like "Happiness is the consequence of personal effort."
ReplyDeleteI agree...be in the garden....it is hard to be at work today! I want to be outside!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, lovely quote. What a gorgeous tulip.
ReplyDeleteI love Rumer Godden. She is one of my favorite authors. Thank you for your lovely comment today.
