Gift of Tea

Sharon is a friend I have never met, yet we started communicating
about 6 years ago for work and have continued the friendship after I retired.  She lives in Taiwan and I would love to visit her there someday.  Recently another friend was traveling to Taiwan for
business and I sent a small gift along for Sharon.
To my surprise, Sharon sent me some tea.
The bag and container are so beautiful.
But even more beautiful is the tea.

It is Osmanthus Oolong.  A lovely floral tea with small pieces of the osmanthus blossom in it.
This morning I will be enjoying a teapot of this beautiful tea.
You can see in the two small dishes the before and after of steeping.
It always amazes me to see the leaves unfurl and release the sweetness of the tea.
What is in your cup today?

What's in my cup today? A wee bit of envy, because this is without a doubt the most exquisite tea gift presentation I have ever seen! (And I too love to see how the tea leaves transform when steeped. I never tire of that!)

How lovely! I am not sophisticated yet when it comes to tea as mine usually involves a bag... but this looks fragrant and tasty and some day, I will try something like this :)

What a lovely gift. I once received a teapot years ago as a gift from a Japanese pen pal. I have it displayed on my shelf in the kitchen.

What a beautiful gift! It's been several years since I've had any osmanthus oolong, but I can still remember the heady aroma.

No tea for me today because I seem to be fighting off some sort of influenza. I'm finally able to sip at gingerale. . .

What a wonderful gift that is. I hope you enjoy your oolong tea; some of my favorite oolongs are from Taiwan.

Wow! That looks interesting and fabulous. I am waiting for my Boston Jasmine Blossom Green Tea to come in. I am making do with some I got at the grocery, but I can't wait for the highly fragrant tea to come.

Lovely and such a nice gift from your dear friend.

Lovely Spring days inspire me to choose fragrant floral teas for brewing.
