This is where I sit each morning for morning tea.
The wall has been bare for 9 years, since we bought the house.
Many years ago my uncle gave me the poster,
but it was lost in the basement.
Before Christmas I found it.
Finally it is framed and hanging on my kitchen wall.
Oh the memories in this little boys face.
My grandfather also had a copy of this poster hanging in his apple packing shed.
It is probably from the 1940's or 1950's and reminds me of the times
my cousins and I would go out into the orchard and pick a slightly green apple
for our afternoon snack.
Do you love apples?
Do you remember eating them as a child and having the juice run down your chin?
What's your favorite variety of apple?

I ate my first apple off a tree in WA when I was 18 and visiting my grandmother. I never knew an apple could taste so good. Prior to that, I'd only had store bought apples. And it's the same with pears, never knew they tasted good till I had a ripe one off a tree.
Currently my favorite is Fiji.

what a great piece of art...My Lar ate at least 2 apples a day...every single day....we used to go to the Hood River Fest just to buy the apples...and drive the gorge to see the leaves changing colors..happy memories!
Thanks for the post!

Love your little tea nook! Perfect! We typically have Gala apples sitting on the counter for anytime treats. And of course, a scoop of peanut butter is the perfect accompaniment.

Oh gosh, I love all apples, but I guess a tart green one such as Granny Smith would be my favorite. Love the poster but most of all the sweet memories it inspires!
What a cute poster! I love apples, my son and I eat one almost every day.
I love apples Marilyn, especially a nice green Granny Smith. As kids, we couldn't wait for the apples to get just the right size of green, and we'd sit on the front steps with the salt shaker and indulge. Mom would always tell us we were going to get a belly ache, but we ignored the warning, ate our fill, and never once had that side effect. A Granny Smith apple or two every day is my most favorite snack, of course with the salt shaker handy!
How wonderful that you found that happy poster again, Marilyn! Your post reminded me of the times my Dad took us to the orchard to buy apples and George the owner would let us run around the orchard and pick up the apples that had fallen on the ground and put them in little baskets to take home. Then there was a paper cup of ice cold cider and away we went home so my Mom could make delectable apple treats: pies, apple cinnamon cake, homemade applesauce, apple dumplings, apple donuts and caramel apples. Yummmmm!
I eat an apple or two every day and my current favorites are gala, pink lady and my most favorite is honey crisp.
Memories are wonderful and what a fun one you have with your apple poster.
I have three apple trees in the orchard, but my favorite by far is *Early Dawn*. It was grown just for this climate by a private grower. He never sold them commercially.
When it comes to apples, we are a divided family. My husband loves the Galas or Braeburns, my daughter is a Granny Smith girl, my son only will eat Honey Crisp, and I'm an apple omnivore but I do love a crispy Fuji.
I love your tea area so peaceful enjoy blessings to you and yours.
Love your poster! And I can visualize your kitchen, my friend. I always love being there with you. Braeburns and Galas are my favorite followed by Pink Ladys and Honey Crisp.

Oh, I'm so glad you posted your poster photo! I was eager to see it.
And I'm a Honey Crisp girl!
Gravenstein, of course. This poster makes me think of the packing house, too. It must have hung there for half a century.
I like hard crispy apples, green come to mind first, but also Braeburn. I love that you found the poster and had it framed...what a sweet spot for your morning tea...will think of you tomorrow in your "sweet" spot while I enjoy a cup of mine! Have a good Sunday! Donna
