It was a magical day!
Come, walk with me!
It had been raining, but the clouds opened up to this amazing view of Mt. Hood.
The hike around Lost Lake is 3 1/4 miles of pure delight.
After all the green, out peaked these sweet pink flowers.
Just for your delight!
At the beginning of Summer I made a list.
On the list were all the things I wanted to make sure and do this Summer.
One adventure still remained and I could tell by the change in the air that Summer would soon be over.
It was a hike at Lost Lake, near Mt. Hood.
It had been 30 years since I had been there and I still remembered it's beauty.
It was a delightful day of hiking and picnicking, one I hope to repeat before another 30 years passes by.
My list has a check mark there and it is highlighted too, as it most definitely was a highlight of the Summer.
What was your highlight of the Summer?
Don't forget to leave a comment on Monday's post for the give away.

Oh, I must add this one to my list for next summer! Of course you know this is my favorite mountain. I've not been to Lost Lake - now I know I MUST go!

Beautiful!! What a view! Wish I could go hiking around Lost Lake too. I remember family picnics at Frog Lake.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at these great photos gave me such a peaceful feeling! Wish I could have joined you for the hike!
ReplyDeleteThat is truly a beautiful area. We just love it.
ReplyDeleteOur summer highlight was kids/having all our kids/grandkids together in NH this summer for a family wedding. Happy times!
Love it...
Oh, Marilyn -- the photo of Mt. Hood looks like a painting! Unbelievable -- what beauty you share with us!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't possibly pick a most memorable summer moment -- there were too many! And isn't that nice?
Nothing more lovely than a lake with a snow-capped mountain hovering above - I spent hours just looking at Mt. Lassen above Lake Almanor this Summer! Your pic is really beautiful Marilyn - you must frame that one!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to check off this adventure to Lost Lake - know you enjoyed every moment.
I managed to do several items on my list - but have to admit the terrible heat in NC put a stop to some planned events here. California was perfect though - I did kayak and do the sightseeing flight over the volcano again, both of which were near the top of the list!

SPECTACULAR moments, Marilyn...loved every bit of this walk. And the image of Mt. Hood dazzles! A highlight of summer here was going to a favorite art gallery and purchasing a work by a favorite artist. As well as taking a seaside trip to a special place. Lots of golden moments as I look back... Happy Day ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Marilyn this is beautiful!! Mount Hood is certainly magnificent! My summer highlight was our big family 4th of July picnic and seeing a friend I had not seen in over 30 years, it was wonderful!
ReplyDeleteContinue to enjoy a lovely week dear friend♥
Smiles....

Home! You make me want to come home.
ReplyDeleteThe highlight of my summer was our long trip west.
