Opening Doors

When I look at a door I wonder what is behind it.
Do you do that too?

Recently I have been thinking what would make my heart sing in the next 5 or 10 years.
Have you stopped to think about that at times in your life?
Sometimes it can be rather scary when I write it down.
It takes my breathe away and I cannot even whisper
my dreams.  I dream of opening some of those doors,
maybe two or three would do.
My heart dreams of being more creative
and living life more fully.
Those are generalizations, but what
I wrote underneath is still too scary to say.
But the final word on the list is passion!
Live life more passionately!
I am not sure where that will take me,
but there I said it, the door is squeaking open.
Care to join me in opening some doors?

  2. I'll join you in opening doors. Just a peek now and then - I think the whole reveal of what's behind would be too much all at once! I have dreams and some of them are grandiose. Let's dream together, my friend, until the doors are completely open and see what's there upclose.

  7. Live life more passionately... and creatively! That's my thinking, too, Marilyn! So I'll gladly be joining your with some door opening & discovery. So far this year has been the beginning of taking some new steps creatively for me. At first it seemed scary, but once those first steps were taken... I wasn't afraid anymore. Trust yourself. Dare to be BOLD! ;o) ((HUGS))

  9. Not many doors, and doubtful any buildings, to capture in my lens during the next couple of weeks................perhaps I'll show you the ones on the ship!

Lovely post Marilyn...........like you I'm frantically planning the next 5-10 years, and we have to catch up in person during one of them!!!!!

    Love and hugs - Mary

  10. I was thinking just last night that it is time to plan something special to look forward to when I turn 50 (in 3 more years). I think a trip to a tea plantation (India? China?) may just be the ticket! And I decided I need to go ahead and crack open that door and begin vocalizing this dream!

  11. Yes, I think it's time to open some new doors. Sometimes the struggles of daily life keep us from looking too far down the road, don't they?

  12. Oh, Marilyn, I think you live your life with grand passion! And yes, a peek behind those doors would be exciting -- who knows what they'd reveal?!

  13. oh, those doors! they beckon, they whisper, they tell us "just one step inside". it is scary stuff, indeed, but i think it's so much worse to stay on the outside, trying to catch peeks when others go through. it's worth remembering, maybe, that we can open from the other side also, and come back if we want to.
