The Star of the Season

Though poinsettias don't grow in the gardens of Oregon, we can enjoy them for the season
in flowerpots sitting in the house.
They can brighten up a dark corner or cheer a friend with a gift of their beauty.
Definitely they are the "star" and shine with the colors of the season.
Do you enjoy flowers in your home for the holidays?
What flowers shine for you?

  3. I do love poinsettias (and someone brought me one this morning!) and also amaryllis, if I can remember to start them at the right time so they bloom at Christmas!

  4. We have poinsettias as our centerpieces in the tea room this year. They add such beauty and color to the room!

  5. Hello Marilyn,

The lovely poinsettia was my dear Mother's favorite flower. A beautiful flower indeed.

    Enjoy a beautiful week. :)

  6. I do agree with Relyn. I guess I was thinking of flowers when I wrote this, but for sure the star of Bethlehem is the main star of the season.

  7. I am headed to the store for poinsettias sometime within the next 48 hours to decorate for a tea party. I also have some baby's breath and red berries that were in an arrangement from a friend, so I hope to find some evergreens to blend with them. This is a great collage!

  8. Amazing. I love poinsettias and the thing I love most is that they manage to last through the season and I don't feel so bad when they die after (because I kill plants anyway) -- they're Christmas plants! I particularly love your variegated one. I've yet to get one -- but will!

  9. I just love having flowers inside at Christmas time. Poinsettias, forced bulbs, etc.
