This dragonfly visited my yard just the other day.
His wings were so delicate, you could see right through them.
They reminded me of fairy wings.
How could these delicate wings take him far?
I learned this week that he was getting ready to migrate.
I didn't know this about dragonflies.
He seems to like the sunshine, so I am imagining
him on some warm tropical island this winter.
If you could fly away with this beautiful dragonfly for the winter,
where would you go?

One of my favorite lines -- A trip to the moon on gossamer wings. It could be no m ore beautifully expressed!

I had no idea they migrate, Marilyn. That is a nice tidbit of information to have. I wonder if all such as these migrate. I've seen two recently that won't make the migration this year as they were taking their final journal to that great pond in the sky.
I just love dragonflys. We have lot of them by our pond. When I was young they were called sewing needles!
That's a great capture, and the answer to your question, that's easy, any island in the Caribbean.

Awesome pictures. When I was at my brother's, I couldn't believe all the dragonflies, and so many different ones. I find them totally intriguing, I'm not sure why!
If I could go on the wings of a dragonfly it would be Costa Rica. But alas, I'm too afraid to fly!

These are magical images, Marilyn! I've always loved dragonflies and their powerful symbolism. I wouldn't mind flying along to some place warm, sunny & tropical with that sweet creature! :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
A pretty little dragonfly. Oh to spend a little longer in Italy over the Winter months - that would be lovely, although I'm happy to spend the Autumn in England.
