One ray of sunshine still I have.
For the last rose of summer resides in my garden.
November is sliding into our memory,
but the last of of summer shines brightly just for me.
As the sunshine fades may you be filled with the light of a new dawn.
Move toward the light of twinkling stars on Christmas trees.
A candle will light the way.
For the last rose of summer shines in my heart
and I will savor until the dawn comes once more.

What a beautiful sentiment Marilyn, and the rose has such a significant meaning, as it is welcoming in the Christmas season, the birth of our "perfect rose"

Really lovely photo and text. Did you write that or is it a cited poem? Love the contrasts in the photo: the delicate, pale rose and her wintry background. Beautiful!
I write everything on this blog unless I mention it is a quote or poem, which I do occasionally post.
How wonderful to see a rose in the middle of our 'gray' season. And it's yellow!

The last rose of summer, bittersweet.
Thank you for these words. The last roses are still blooming in our garden. The last rose(s) of Summer is (are) special.
Wow, can't believe you still have a rose at this time of the year!
I fear my roses have long faded. I'm so glad you can get a bit more time from yours!
